Updates from EDGE Illinois
This files shows the large variances in low income counts between the proposed formula in SB16 and the current formula. It also shows how the % of students signed up for Free and Reduced lunch varies from year to year.
This file shows the Regional Cost Differences for School Districts using data from the following sources. This data should be used to start the conversation, but in our opinion it should not just be applied directly into the formula. The best answer would be to create an Illinois specific School District regional cost index that can be used in the Senate Bill 16 (SB16) formula.
Cost of Living data was captured at the county level using www.citydata.com
Comparable Wage Index is from http://bush.tamu.edu/research/faculty/Taylor_CWI/
Updated 11/8 - SB16 analysis file that combines data from the ISBE SB16 files, ISBE general state aid files, ISBE school report cards, regional cost difference information and socio-economic data from the U.S. Census Bureau.
Note: this is a large file and may take a minute to download.
